Physical Training
Physical Fitness Tracking
The participant will be responsible to complete and track 8 different physical activities (given by the leaders) over the duration of the class. We get this discipline from 1 Corinthians 9:27, in which Paul warns that it can disqualify ourselves from preaching the gospel.
As Men of God, we are called to be good stewards of our body (1 Corinthians 6:15-20). However, if you are injured or unable to complete a physical activity, exceptions can be made.
Deny Self Challenge
The participant will need to pick something that he is willing to give up over the duration of the class. It must be a sacrifice. This practice teaches discipline and encourages the commandment of Jesus to deny our self. This discipline is less about what you are giving up and more about shifting our minds to Jesus, instead of self. This, in turn, teaches us to deny ourselves when faced with the temptation of sin.
While it is up to the participant to choose whatever he pleases to give up, our one condition is that it must be something that will be difficult for the individual. No discipline will be learned if it is easy.
