True Accountability

Belief

We believe accountability is a vital part of any Christian’s spiritual growth and development. The significance of accountability is being transparent/honest in order to not allow sin to creep back into our lives. True accountability is actually designed as a line of defense to safeguard our soul, body and mind in order to thrive in the designed relationship that God offers through His Son Jesus Christ and the community of faith. Accountability isn’t designed to make you feel secure, it is designed to make sure we are always held in account for our actions that are called out to be holy, as our God is holy - 1 Peter 1:15. This creates a proper tension to hold us accountable, not just to each other but ultimately to God.

Hebrews 9:27 assures us all that we have a judgement to face at the end of this life and hopefully, as we grow and mature in Christ, this realization helps us hold ourselves accountable more and more. But, as we are all prone to stray, the earthly accountability of our brothers in Christ is crucial to helping us stay on, and/or get back on track. Many men are not used to being held accountable in their spirital walk. So what does that look like in MAKEWAR?

Action

At MAKEWAR Ministries, we begin all classes with a clear and concise commitment letter that every participant must sign for participation and have co-signed by their spouse, fiance, closest friend, etc. This letter details all requirements for course completion and by signing their name to it, the participants are saying that they will complete all assignments. This is where accountability, or Biblical discipline, comes in. This is where authentic accountability takes place in love and support for each other.

“And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with all knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the days of Christ.” - Philippians 1:9-10
